Good Bye Dallas!

Plans are unfolding as I had hoped they would.  As I spend this last night in Dallas, I am full of gratitude for the opportunity I've had to spend so much time with family and friends. I came home with the intent to stay through the holidays, visiting back and forth between two cities until the day of my departure in January on to my next adventure.

Again I am bidding farewell to Big D where the land is flat, the air is dry and the people are friendly.  Once before I traded it in for Atlanta, where the land is hilly, the air is humid, and the people are family.  Incidentally Seoul, South Korea proved to be just as accommodating with its mountains, four distinct seasons and people who embraced me as their own.

Maybe it is because I moved around many times while growing up, but I have yet to become too attached to a place.  I missed Seoul when I left, but mainly because of its people and the events that I remember.  The same was true of Dallas when I left the first time, as well as Atlanta even though my stay was short.  It has also helped knowing that I will see people again and can keep up with their lives through networking sites and internet phone systems.

Although I have two suitcases, one overnight, and three additional bags packed, I know this goodbye is temporary.  With Morocco in my not-so-distant future, I'm still excited about the holidays and living in the moment so as not to take this time for granted.

Here's to bringing in the holidays with the ones we love!  I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
